Japan Extends Provides Nearly $10 million to Continue Cambodia Land Survey

PHNOM PENH: The Government of Japan will provide a grant of approximately $9.7 million USD to support land registration and surveys that show the extent, value and ownership of the land. The grant will be signed and received by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Sok Chenda Sophea and Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia Ueno Atsushi on October 26.

The grant will be used by Cambodia to construct a permanent reference station network across the country to monitor progress of land surveys that will determine the value of Cambodia’s land and relay the cost of infrastructure projects.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia assessed that the gesture demonstrates Japan's unwavering commitment to support the Royal Government of Cambodia's ongoing efforts to promote economic and social development.

The grant extension contributes to expanded cooperation between the two countries, who will celebrate 70 years of diplomatic ties this November.
